Abstract

Health tourism has an important place among the types of tourism in the international arena. Medical tourism is the most popular type of health tourism. As people become more conscious about healthy living, medical tourism continues to be in greater demand. Increasing demand in medical tourism creates a large market and competitive environment for countries. Countries that want to gain a competitive advantage in medical tourism are trying to gain an important place in this market by simultaneously developing their health systems and tourism activities. In the provision of medical tourism services, the perspectives of individuals working in health institutions providing medical tourism services to medical tourism are of great importance. By determining the perspectives of the employees towards medical tourism and medical tourists, the problems in the health services provided by the health institutions can be corrected and activities can be carried out to make the negative attitudes of the employees about medical tourism and medical tourists positive. In this study, it is aimed to determine the perspectives of health professionals working in Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Practice and Research Hospital, which provides medical tourism services, on medical tourism. This study consists of three parts. In the first part of the study, the concept of health, health services, its features and classification, the concept of health tourism, its characteristics and types in the second part, and the application part where the data analysis is made in the third part. In line with the purpose of the study, the opinions of the healthcare professionals working at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Practice and Research Hospital were consulted and a survey was conducted with a total of 418 healthcare professionals. As a result of the survey study, 36 survey forms with missing information were excluded from the study and the remaining 382 survey forms were analyzed. Questionnaire forms SPSS v. Analyzed with the 22.00 program. As a result of the study, 50.30% of the participants were women, 49.70% were men, 38.70% were in the 35-44 age group, 59.70% were university graduates, 26.70% were employed in auxiliary services professions. group and 65.20% of them have 6 years or more experience.
