Abstract

In order to increase the effectiveness of the tourism sector, which has a high economic value for developing countries, many different types of alternative tourism are brought to the agenda. The main purpose of the research is to investigate the awareness of healthcare professionals towards health tourism, which can be expressed as the most important among these alternatives. The sample of the research prepared for this purpose consists of 400 nurses working in Sivas province. Questionnaire forms were used as data collection tools in the research. The forms used consist of two parts, the first part includes statements to determine the introductory characteristics of the participants, while the second part includes statements to determine their awareness of health tourism. The data obtained were subjected to evaluation with SPSS package program. Following the descriptive statistics findings, an analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between the statements in the scale and the participants' descriptive characteristics. As a result of the study, the striking results are as follows. The idea that there is a difference between private and public hospitals in terms of service quality has been determined to differ in terms of educational status. It has been determined that the idea that health tourism provides a source of income to organizations differs in terms of length of service.
